RGBs & Tempered Glass. Fad, gimmick, or awesome?

Even if you don’t know your CPUs from your GPUs or your RAM from your SSDs, you should know that flashy RGB LEDs and tempered glass won’t make your games run any faster. They sure can be pretty but when your gaming, you are looking at your monitor not your hardware right? If anything the glow of the LEDs could be a distraction and every dollar you sink in to the aesthetics is a dollar not going towards performance!

That’s how we used to think about it anyway, but it seems more and more customers are going for the premium looks over the best possible price / performance ratio and configuring rigs with aesthetics at the forefront of their mind, and who are we to judge? That’s the beauty of Evatech’s level of customisability, no mater what side of the issue you fall on you can get exactly that you want with none of the bundled in rubbish you don’t need.

If you haven’t already, checkout our custom gaming PC builder page (link here) and find out why we’re Australia’s premiere custom PC provider, with built in error detection, game performance indicators and the widest range of options to choose from selecting only top quality hardware and latest generation gear.

RGB Case Lighting Takes Center Stage in this Corsair Tempered Glass 460X Build

Is RGB a fad? Everything from keyboards to coolers, mouse pads to RAM all come with RGB LED lighting these days and while some love to hate, others just love.

But how much RGB lighting is too much? Is there such a thing as too much? This particular customer went all out with 6 Corsair RGB fans in a single mid tower gaming build plus an RGB remote controlled lighting strip!

Various different LED modes can be enabled as well as the option to stick with a static single color. Although it’s not immediately clear, there is also an RGB lighting strip mounted at the bottom of the case that for the sake of this video was set to white as to not interfere with the full effect of the Corsair fans, but is also fully customisable.

Thinking this is overkill and you just want to spend your money on the components that actually contribute to gaming performance? Or do you think this looks good enough to justify the extra dollars spent? That’s the beauty of Evatech custom computers, you can have then any way you like, it’s all up to you.

Head on over to evatech.com.au and start customizing your next LED or non LED lit gaming PC today.

Q: How many fans can you daisy chain on a 230w sfx PSU? A: More than you should need.

Here at the Evatech offices we have accumulated a large box of OEM case fans and before we tried to sell them or even give them away, we wanted to make sure they were all working first.

In order to test them all, we could have just plugged them all in one by one, but it’s Friday afternoon and where’s the fun in that? We decided answer the question that no-one was asking, how many fans can a cheap old PSU power at once? So we dragged out a 230w sfx PSU we had we had lying around the office and start daisy chaining every fan together until they simply wouldn’t start to spin.
