Our first shipment of the eagerly awaited Gigabyte GTX 980’s arrived early ahead of Fridays launch and and much to our dismay, there was no driver CD in the box. In its place was a sticker asking us to visit Nvidia’s website to download the drivers, where the drivers have yet to be released.
So instead of bringing you benchmarks, we will have to settle for some photos instead.

When it comes to mid tower PC case design, very few vendors deviate from the tried and true, black and white color schemes. Aerocool’s DS200 range has broken the mold releasing an ORANGE, BLUE, GREEN and RED versions in addition to the standard black and white options giving the customers 6 different colors to choose from.
The overall design of the DS 200 mid tower range follows in the footsteps of their earlier mITX DS Cube series, that also comes in range of colors. As standard the DS 200 comes with noise damping materials affixed to the internal panels and a built in LCD fan controller and temperature display. This 4 speed fan controller also has the ability to swap between 7 different back lighting colors and the temperature readout can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Here at the Evatech offices we have accumulated a large box of OEM case fans and before we tried to sell them or even give them away, we wanted to make sure they were all working first.
In order to test them all, we could have just plugged them all in one by one, but it’s Friday afternoon and where’s the fun in that? We decided answer the question that no-one was asking, how many fans can a cheap old PSU power at once? So we dragged out a 230w sfx PSU we had we had lying around the office and start daisy chaining every fan together until they simply wouldn’t start to spin. Continue reading “Q: How many fans can you daisy chain on a 230w sfx PSU? A: More than you should need.”

Here at Evatech we are getting a lot of questions from customers asking if they should bother waiting for this or not so we thought we would take the time to address it publicly online.
From what we know so far, there will be 3 new CPU sku’s, the 5820K, 5930K and 5960X. At this point the price points are still just rumors but according to Niels Broekhuijsen over at Tomshardware we expect them to start at around the $450 AUD mark and go all the way up to $1100 for the top of the line model.
